1、Common Faults
 Fake Faults
    This kind of failure is not caused by the fault of the instrument, but because users do not understand the parameters of the instrument, or operate improperly. Such as:
     The incorrect system time leads to the result that data can not be stored;
     Due to the setting up of the screen saver, fake black screen appears to DI1000B.
     The data of the five minutes is not saved for DI1000B.
     Crash appears when query data because the printer is not connected with DI1000
     Sample injection does not work due to the incorrect position of Directional in online using.
     When customers encounter such problems, we should carefully ask for the information and advise customers about how to solve such problems.
Common Fault
 Glitches
        If such failures occur, the instrument can not work properly, but just a little bit operation can solve the problem. Such as:
       As the pipeline is blocked, sample injection does not work as normal.
    Then just dredge it with a syringe.
        Due to transportation, the clock chip of DI1000 may fall off and the device can not start. Just plug it back and then this problem can be solved. as long as you get a knowledge of this device such failures can be resolved.

        Such failures could not be repaired on the spot, at least it can not be repaired in the absence of accessory. Such as
       Circuit boards are faulty, chips are burned.
       Spiral is broken.
Such failures can only be solved by door to door service, or by Depot Repair.
 
 
2、FAQ Analysis
 DI1000B Data Can not be Stored
    The situation of data can not be stored occurs generally due to improper operation. The following situations will result to the above problem.
      System time is wrong.
     In the first five minutes of the test, data is not stored.
     The time range of historical data query is set incorrectly.
     The storage capacity of DI1000B is 128M. About 3 years’ continuous data can be stored as it being tested every 4 minutes can be stored. But none data can be stored when the test interval is set to be 10 seconds. It is also troublesome to query if the interval is set to be 10 seconds due to too much stored data. Therefore we recommend that the analysis interval should be set reasonably. Generally four minutes is recommanded.
 Fault of Storage of DI1000
    When the situation that data can not be stored appears on DI1000, if it is not the fault of storage, then there must be some fault on circuit board, which needs to be repaired by professional.
     Data of one year can be stored on DI1000. If beyond the capacity, new record will cover the old one. You can clear the history data.
 Problem of Coordinating with TOC Autosampler
    Because of the limitations of TOC Autosampler, when it is used in conjunction with the TOC analyzer, data confusion may appear.
     DI1000B has been improved towards this issue, which may help to resolve the problem by updating the program. (The sold ones can also be updated)
     There is no update program for DI1000 now, you can ask customer service about how to distinguish test data. For example, interval detection of purified water and water for injection is recommended. By doing this, you can see a significant change in the data, so that the data can be distinguished.
 Service Life Setting of UV Lamp and Peristaltic Pump Tubing
    DI1000 UV lamp service time can only be set as six months. When time is up, it will prompt the customers. Because DI1000 does not record the cumulative time, but prompt after six months, for this reason, the service life can be extended according to the actual situation.
    You can set the UV lamp 5000 hours and peristaltic pump tubing 365 days for the service life of DI1000B. DI1000B records the cumulative time, so when it prompts that the component has exceed the limit time, the component should be replaced immediately.
     When users complete new component replacement, user should be warned to reset the expiration date, or the instrument will still prompt parts expired which may cause misunderstanding.
 
 
3、Troubleshooting List
 Can not Power up
        First, check if it is the problem of power supply. Turn on the fan can not rule out the issue, and then it can be judged if power supply is normal. If there is trouble powering up and turning on the fan, the problem of power supply may exist. This problem is normally caused by a fuse damage or power outlet. There is spare fuse under the power plug. The issue of power supply can generally be resolved on site.
   However, if blank screen appears when starting but the fan is running, indicating there is no problem of power supply.  This may be the instrument problem, need technical support for maintenance.
 DI1000B Connected USB Printer Can Not Print U Disk Can Not Copy the Data
     The printer models DI1000B supported are fixed, or result can not be printed. The same to U disk, too, for some U disk may not be supported.
    We recommend users print after copying the data in the U disk to the computer, while connected USB printers are not recommanded.
 Phenomenon of Test Data 0.001
     When the test data 0.001 appears, the following cases may be the reasons.
      There is no injection, because the pipeline is blocked, online reversing valve is not in the right position, or the interface has not been tightened when being used with TOC autosampler.
       Inorganic carbon in water samples is too high.
       Instrument detection circuit failed.
    The issue of test result 0.001 is a common problem. Recommend users to eliminate the first two reasons first when faced with this problem. 
 DI1000B Touch Screen Failure
     The reason of DI1000B touch screen failure is the face sticker of instrument come in tact with the touch screen, which is the same with that when a hand is pressing on the touch screen, there is no response if you touch with another at the same time. Then you can instruct the user to expose the sticker out a little from the surface. If it still doesn’t work, replace it with new sticker. The new sticker is hollow, which can help to solve the problem
 Normal Injection Can Not Be Done
    The problem that injection can not be done is mainly due to the pipeline leak or blockage. You can inject water into the device from the inlet with a syringe. And observe whether there is water leakage, tighten the leaky interface.

Common Fault Diagnosis and Treatment of TOC Marketed Products
Attentions:
1.      Insoluble particles in water samples can easily lead to pipe blockage, so you must use a filter. The filter membrane pore size should be ≤ 60μm;
2.      When there are bubbles inside the pipeline of the instrument, test data will be disturbed. If residual bubbles are observed in the transparent tube, you can knock the pipe with fingers to let out the bubbles. If necessary, use a small syringe, using pipe blockage to let out the air bubbles;
3.      Unplug the peristaltic pump which is for waste discharge (peristaltic pump rear). Water drops out of the two pipes. If any one or two does not drip, that means pipe blockage or bubbles are contained. Check the pipelines gradually. Pull out the waste pipe in the front of peristaltic pump, and then connect it with 1ml disposable syringes, pump out bubbles or blockage to make the pipeline unblocked;
4.     UV lamps and peristaltic pump tubing can be purchased from our company. UV lamp is 185nm, 254nm dual wavelength UV lamp. The peristaltic pump tubing is imported, which is with high quality and good stability. Consumables replacement time refer to Table 1.

1、Erroneous zone one: After filtration, membrane is broken when rotating Cup Puller.
    1)Analysis: The whole microbial limit system uses vacuum filtration. After filtration, certain negative pressure exists in the pipeline. If the rotation speed is too high, and the vacuum has not been fully released, the membrane may be broken.
    2)Operational recommendations: When rotating Cup Puller, you’ll hear a relief sound. Rotate the Cup Puller until it reaches the lower end of the monitor. After the completion of relief (relief process takes about 3 ~ 4S), continue rotating Cup Puller to jack the monitor up. Till the Cup Puller reaches the top, the cup can be taken down safely.
2、Erroneous zone two: test purified water and other sample with Microbial Enumeration Monitor. After cultivating, if there is no colony on the membrane surface, it is considered that the monitor itself is not sensitive enough.
    When testing purified water and water for injection, there may be no colony or unobvious growth on the surface of filter membrane. It may be caused by adding 1ml purified water directly into the filter cup when using. As the test solution has not been diluted, colonies may grow together; and because purified water and water for injection are purified before, the bacteria count level is low. So the test results of no colonies or little colony growth are possible. Meanwhile you should put attention to requirements for the amount of inspection as the pharmacopoeia says, such as the testing amount of water for injection should be 200ml, which may be easy to ignore.
        In Microbial Limit Test, it is recommended that the test solution should be diluted if only a small volume of test solution is added into the incubator. This way, the microorganism contained in the test solution can fully be decentralized. Especially in purified water test, be sure to achieve the required amount of test. In the case of small content of bacterial, if the amount of inspection can not reach the test requirement, then it is more difficult to get accurate colony counting results.

 

 Sterility Test Kits General Troubleshooting
1. No display: Check the situation of power, sockets, fuses, etc.
2. Motor is not running smoothly: Check if the power supply voltage is too low (when voltage is below 200V, the instrument will be in intermittent operation)
3. Pump reel does not run: stop the reel, remove the pump cover, run the reel, to make the set screws exposed, tighten the screw.
4. Reel and pump head rubs: Check the vertical position of the reel deflection, loosen the reel screws. Adjust the position of reel, and then tighten the screws.
5. When the instrument can run with no-load, but can not with load, check whether the three rollers on the reel are stuck. If they can not rotate, you can replace the entire reel.
